about

GalPeleg Architects was founded in 2004 in Tel Aviv by Adi Gal and Amir Peleg. Since then their practice has specialized in urban renewal and housing projects, including additions to listed historic buildings, new buildings in historical contexts and private houses.   The projects combine clear and sharp spatial perception with a on texture, material and colour. The design structure is based on observation of the existing architectural context together with a contemporary personal statement. The planning process in the studio is inspired by analysis of existing buildings and the exposure of their original logic, combined with experiments in painting, drawing and colour.   GalPeleg's aspiration lies in the meeting point between the well-designed and the simple, the monochromatic and the colorful, orderly and chaotic, when the seemingly effortless aesthetics leave much room for lightness.
